What We Believe

We are a member church in a denomination called The Christian Reformed Church (CRC). This is a denomination with about 300,000 members in roughly 1,000 congregations across the United States and Canada.text57584_3

We believe that the Holy Bible is God’s infallible written Word contained in the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments.

We also subscribe to the following Reformed Confessions: The Belgic Confession, The Canons of Dort, and The Heidelberg Catechism.

In addition, we hold to the following Ecumenical or Universal Creeds: The Apostle’s Creed, The Athanasian Creed, and the Nicene Creed.

We call ourselves “Christian” because we believe that Jesus Christ is God’s Son and our Savior. He came into this world to rescue us from our rejection of God. By trusting in his death on the cross and his rising from the dead, we receive from God the Father the gifts of forgiveness of sin and eternal life.

Calling ourselves “Reformed” grounds us deeply in the heritage of the Christian faith. It reminds us that we stand on the great truths that were rediscovered centuries ago during the Protestant Reformation. At that time, people were brought back to the authority of God’s Word and a personal relationship with Jesus. They began to establish Bible-centered churches.

And finally, we are a “Church” because the Spirit of God creates a living community among those who trust in Christ. They become a family of God who dynamically grow in love, joy and hope. They live out their faith in their homes, schools, jobs, and recreation.

We think you will find spiritual refreshment and new purpose for your life in this Christian Reformed Church. We invite you to come and see what God is doing here.
